Lady Indian Regional Basketball Results

The Lady Indians competed well in their last few games of the season. Regionals was last week and the Indians fought hard as always.

“We play as a team and everyone who is a part of the team plays a major role in our successes,” said Jordyn Faulkender, freshman. “We played with grit and we never gave up.”

The Lady Indians started Regionals off with a win against Northern Valley with a score of 58 to 25. The Indians were intense from the get-go and stayed in control the whole game.

“I thought we fought the whole way through the week and did our best and pushed until the end,” said Emma Johnson, sophomore. “It was a good season with my friends.”

The last game of the season was a showdown between Atwood and Sainty. The Indians let the Buffaloes take the lead in the first half but showed the Buffs that they were a force to be reckoned with in the second half. The Indians lost 46 to 56.

Unfortunately, because of the loss to Atwood, the Indians were no longer able to compete and that concluded their season.

“I’m happy with how we ended,” said Lauren Johnson. “We never gave up.”

The Lady Indians had a very successful season and celebrated those successes while also improving. The Indians ended their season with arguably one of the best records in school history and shared the title of Co-League Champs with Hoxie and Atwood, something that hasn’t happened in a number of years. Additionally for the first time in the school’s history, the girls made it to the championship game at the NWKL tournament.

“It was a really good season with all the success we had. Since it ended a little earlier than we wanted, it makes us want to work harder in the summer for next season,” said Junior Karly Bandel.
