Teams Compete In Triplains Invitational

The St. Francis High School track teams competed in the Triplains Invitational at Colby on Tuesday April 9. The Indians placed second in the boys standings and the girls earned a seventh place finish. St. Francis had three event winners. Jordan Raby won the boys 100 meter dash. Cody Baxter won the 300 meter hurdles. The boys 4 X 100 meter relay team consisting of Cody Baxter, Jordan Raby, Brady Dinkel, and Jayce Nider also won first place. Fourteen teams competed in the meet.

Boys Division

Northern Valley won the boys meet championship scoring 120 team points. St. Francis placed a distant second with 76. Wallace County earned third place with 72 team points. The remainder of the field placed in the following order:  4th - Trego Community 61, 5th - Brewster 48, 6th - Wheatland 29, 7th (tie) - Golden Plains 28, 7th (tie) - Weskan 28, 9th - Triplains 21, 10th - Greeley County 17, 11th - Cheylin, 12th (tie) - Logan 14, 12th (tie) - Quinter 14, 12th (tie) - Western Plains 14.

Indians placing in the meet are listed below.

Cody Baxter - 1st in 300 meter hurdles (41.48); 2nd in 100 meters (11.62)

Shadryon Blanka - 3rd in triple jump (38' 8.5"); 5th in shot put (41' 9")

Adam Krien - 4th in javelin (130' 5")

Isaiah Lee - 2nd in long jump (19' 0")

Jayce Nider - 5th in 400 meters (54.99)

Tiernan Poling - 3rd in pole vault (12' 0")

Jordan Raby - 1st in 100 meters (11.55)

Keigan Taylor - 6th in 100 meters (12.21)

Kobe Tice - 6th in javelin (129' 6")

4 X 400 meter relay - 1st - Cody Baxter, Jordan Raby, Brady Dinkel, Jayce Nider (3:39.48)

4 X 800 meter relay - 2nd - K.C. Krien, Brady Dinkel, Garin Cooper, Bryce Raby (9:32.66)

Girls Division

Trego Community won the girls division of the Triplains Invitational. The Lady Eagles scored 104 points. Wallace County earned second place with 88 team points. The rest of the competing teams placed in the following order:  3rd - Northern Valley 65, 4th - Wheatland - 60, 5th - Golden Plains -57, 6th - Quinter 53, 7th - St. Francis 44, 8th - Logan 29, 9th - Cheylin 26, 10th - Greeley County 18, 11th - Triplains 7, 12th - Weskan 6. Western Plains and Brewster did not score in the girls division.

Lady Indians placing in the meet are listed below.

Jessica Confer - 2nd in discus (99' 3")

Lyden Lampe - 5th in 1600 meters (6:58.17)

Kara Maybury - 2nd in 1600 meters (6:30.60)

Mia Morrow - 4th in 100 meters (13.90); 5th in triple jump (29' 10")

Hannah Zimbal - 3rd in 200 meters (28.26); 3rd in 400 meters (1:05.01)

4 X 100 meter relay - 2nd - Mia Morrow, McKenna Poling, Emma Johnson, Hanna Zimbal (54.49)

The high school track teams will compete in the Oakley Invitational on Thursday, April 18.
