Junior High Invitational Held

The St. Francis Junior High Track and Field Invitational was held on Tuesday, April 16. Ten teams competed in the meet including Brewster, Cheylin, Decatur Community, Christian Family Educators, Idalia, Rawlins County, St. Francis, Triplains, Wallace County and Weskan. The Indians placed 4th in the meet and the Lady Indians placed 5th.

Boys Division

Rawlins County won the boys division totaling 140.5 team points. Cheylin was a distant second with 82 while Idalia earned 74.5 to place third. St. Francis placed 4th with 64 points. The remainder of the field finished in the following order:  5th - Triplains 42, 6th - Wallace County 40, 7th - Christian Family Educators 33, 8th - Brewster 30, 9th - Decatur Community 20, and 10th - Weskan 1.

St. Francis had one individual event winner. Colton Raile won the boys shot put with a toss of 33' 6", a personal best.

St. Francis athletes placing in the St. Francis Invitational are listed below.

Ben Busse - 3rd in 800 meters - (2:34.25); 3rd in 1600 meters (5:51.90)

Aiden Fernandez - 6th in pole vault (6' 0")

Rhonald Neitzel - 2nd in 400 meters (1:04.71)

Colton Raile - 1st in shot put (35' 3"); 3rd in discus (91' 1")

Connor Wachsman - 4th in discus (85' 0")

Preston Witzel - 2nd in 200 meters (27.81); 5th in long jump (16' 3"); 6th in high jump (4' 8")

4 X 100 meter relay - 3rd  (55.50) - Colton Raile, Connor Wachsman, Chris Espino, Rhonald Neitzel

4 X 200 meter relay - 5th (2:12.07) - Shane Todd, Connor Wachman, Seth Tumbelson, Cris Espino

4 X 400 meter relay - 4th (4:38.07) - Colton Raile, Alex Rodriguez, Cris Espino, Rhonald Neitzel

Girls Division

Decatur Community won the girls division with 136 team points. Idalia placed second with 118.5 and Wallace County third with 107. The rest of competing teams finished as follows:  4th - Rawlins County 86.5, 5th - St. Francis 39.5, 6th - Cheylin 10, 7th - Weskan 3, 8th (tie) - Triplains 2, 8th (tie) - Christian Family Educators 2, and 10th - Brewster 1.5.

Jesslynn Houtman was the only individual event winner for the Lady Indians. Jesslynn leaped 28' 11" in the triple jump to win the event. The distance was a new personal record for Jesslynn.

Ellee Krien - 2nd in pole vault (6' 6"); 5th in 800 meters (3:05.43)

Makaila Matthies - 5th in 1600 meters (7:18.71)

Matilynn Smull - 5th in pole vault (5' 6")

Rian Zimbal - 3rd in shot put (28' 2")

4 X 100 meter relay - 4th (1:01.61) - Jacki Milliken, Jesslynn Houtman, Rian Zimbal, and Ellee Krien

4 X 200 meter relay - 4th (2:21.89) - Mika Killingsworth, Kaylee Moberly, Michelle Palasio, and Aspen Tiegs

4 X 400 meter relay - 5th (5:32.75) - Jacki Milliken, Maggie Hingst, Matilynn Smull, and Aspen Tiegs

St. Francis will compete in the Atwood Quad Meet on Thursday, April 18.
