JH Boys Lose In Sharon Springs

The junior high boys basketball team competed with the Wallace County Wildcats on November 14 in St. Francis. The Indians played hard but suffered two lopsided losses to the visiting Wildcats. The A-Team Indians lost to Wallace County by a score of 11-53. The B-Team lost to Wallace County 14-29.

Wallace County jumped out to an early 1-19 lead in the first period. The only score by the Indians was on a free-throw by Aiden Fernandez. Wallace County had four players score in the opening quarter, with Evan Pierce recording 8 points and Tyler Korbe scoring 6. In the second quarter, Wallace County added 16 points to their total while the young Indians could only generate three. St. Francis trailed 4-35 at halftime.

In the third period, Dawson Rose scored the first field goal of the contest for the Indians. It was the only score for the Indians in the period. Meanwhile, the Wildcats added 12 more to lead 6-47 after three quarters of action. A running clock was used in the final period. St. Francis lost to Wallace County 11-53.

Aiden Fernandez led the Indians in scoring with 6 points. Dawson Rose added 4 and Asher Robbins 1. Evan Pierce led Wallace County with 18 points. Andrew Smith added 9, Tyler Korbe 8, Tharyan Hawkins 6, and Travis Korbe Jr. 6. 

The Indians will play at Dighton on Thursday, November 21.
