Indians Defeated By Buffs

The St. Francis Junior High boys basketball teams both lost to the visiting Rawlins County Buffaloes in St. Francis on Thursday, December 5. St. Francis fell short in the A-Team game losing 16-39. The young Indians were defeated by Rawlins County in the B-Team game 19-46.

St. Francis trailed 2-8 after one quarter of A-Team play. Cris Espino scored the only basket of the period for the Indians while Brayan Rodriguez (8th) scored 4 for Rawlins County. Sage Dulany (8th) and Pete Crouse (8th) each added a field goal to the Rawlins County first-quarter total. The Buffs extended their lead to 4-14 by halftime as Espino was the only Indian to score in the period two.

Jordan Smull added 5 points to the Indian total in the third stanza on two field goals (1 trey). Espino was the only Indian to score in all four periods. Rawlins County made 5 treys in the second half. The Buffs led 11-23 after three periods and won the contest 16-37.

Scoring for St. Francis in the game were Cris Espino 11 and Jordan Smull 5. Rawlins County was led by Rodriguez with 17 points. Crouse added 8 and Ryan Sramek (7th) chipped in 5.

The young Indians will play Greeley County in Tribune on Thursday, December 12.
