Boys Place 2nd In St. Francis Invitational

The St. Francis Invitational Track and Field Meet was held on Tuesday, April 24th. Thirteen teams competed for the team championship with Decatur Community winning both the boys and girls divisions. St. Francis placed 2nd in the boys division and 11th in the girls division.

Decatur Community scored 76 points to earn first place in the boys division. St. Francis was second with 65 points. Oakley placed third with 56.5, narrowly edging Wallace County who scored 55. The remainder of the competing boys teams finished in the following order: 5th Burlington 51.5, 6th Hoxie 45, 7th (tie) Cheylin and Weskan 44, 9th Bethune 40, 10th (tie) Triplains and Greeley County 22; 12th Rawlins County, and 13th Brewster 16.

Thomas Douthit: 6th 100 meter dash 11.90

Logan Lampe: 6th 200 meter dash 24.61

Steven Nelson: 3rd 110 meter hurdles 17.71; 3rd 300 ,meter hurdles 44.61

Isaac Schiltz: 1st high jump 6' 0"; 1st pole vault 13' 0"; 2nd triple jump 41' 0"; 3rd long jump 18' 7"

Casey Keller: 3rd high jump 5' 10"

Mason Schiltz: 2nd pole vault 12' 6"

Cade Bracelin: 6th shot put 39' 6"

Zach Gienger: 5th discus 118' 8 3/4"

Aly-800 meters

The Decatur Community girls scored 109.5 points to earn the meet championship. Rawlins County finished in second place with 95 points. Oakley, with 76.5 points, placed third. The other girls team placings were: 4th Hoxie 67.5, 5th Greeley County 58, 6th Weskan 48.5, 7th (tie) Wallace County and Cheylin 22, 9th Triplains 18, 10th Burlington 17, 11th St. Francis 14, 12th Bethune 7, 13th Brewster 0.
