HS Track Teams Compete In Quinter Invitational

Schiltz Clears 14' 4"

The St. Francis High School Track teams competed in the Quinter Invitational Track and Field Meet on Friday, April 27th.  The Indians placed 5th as a team in the meet.  The Lady Indians placed 13th. Seventeen boys teams and fourteen girls teams competed in the Invitational.  Isaac Schiltz turned in one of the top performances in the state when he cleared 14' 4" in the pole vault.

Hill City won the boys division with 73 points.  Golden Plains placed second with 66 and Grinnell/Wheatland was 3rd with 60 points.  The remainder of the boys team scores were as follows:  4th Weskan 53, 5th St. Francis 47, 6th Wallace County 46, 7th Ellis 40, 8th Greeley County 31, 9th Dighton 27, 10th Quinter 26, 11th Northern Valley 23, 12th Natoma 17, 13th (tie) Brewster and Healy 14, 15th Triplains 11, 16th Heartland Christian 8, and 17th Western Plains 2.

Boys placing in the meet for St. Francis are listed below.

Steven Nelson:  4th 100 meter hurdles 17.41; 4th 300 meter hurdles 44.78

Isaac Schiltz:  1st pole vault 14' 4"; 2nd high jump 6' 2"; 3rd triple jump 38' 9 1/2"; 4th long jump 19' 0"

Casey Keller:  5th high jump 5' 8"

Mason Schiltz:  4th pole vault 11' 0"

Zach Gienger:  5th discus 116' 11"

4 X 100 meter relay:  (Logan Lampe, Tyler Raby, Mikey Leibrandt, Thomas Douthit0 5th 47.09

 

Weskan won the girls division scoring 87 team points.  Hoxie was second with 76 and Quinter 3rd with 71.  The other competing girls teams finished in the following order:  4th Wallace County 61, 5th Greeley County 60, 6th Grinnell/Wheatland 38, 7th Hill City 33.33, 8th Ellis 30, 9th Dighton 28.33, 10th Triplains 24, 11th Golden Plains 18, 12th Natoma 16, 13th St. Francis 13.33, and 14th Brewster 1.

Girls placing in the meet for St. Francis are listed below.

Aly Schlepp:  5th 800 meters 2:39.20

McKayla Taylor:  4th 100 meter hurdles 17.63

Justice Wiley:  4th (three way tie) high jump 4' 4"

Dallas Reed:  4th pole vault 8' 0"

Christina Schoenrogge:  6th javelin 82' 7"

The high school track teams will compete next on Tuesday, May 1st at the Oberlin Invitational.
