Indians whitewash Holly, Co.

Kansas came out on top with the “Border War” last Friday Night in Holly, Colorado, the Indians blanked the Wildcats 62-0.

Adam Krien, junior, performed well with 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble. “Holly’s inexperienced line led us to get through the line quicker and be able to get more tackles behind the line,” Krien said.

The Indians scored early in the first quarter and never looked back, scoring almost every time they had the ball, which led to the early demise of the Wildcats.

“It was fun to get into the game, especially getting a deflection on a pass,” Sophomore Caleb Todd said.

Throughout the summer, Shadryon Blanka, junior, went to multiple football camps to work on his craft and it showed with Blanka accumulating 234 yards and 3 scores. “It was a good experience to play an out-of-state team that we would usually not play on a regular basis,” Blanka said.

The Indians did well playing on a Colorado field with an extra 20 yards, compared to a Kansas field. With no mercy rule in Colorado, the Indians kept a running clock, due to a 40-point margin for more than half of the game.

The Indians will travel to Dighton Thursday to play the Hornets at 7 p.m.
