Senior Works Hard to Achieve Life Goals (Kattie Wurm Senior feature)

By Jordyn Faulkender

This past year has mixed a lot of things up at SFCHS. However, this does not mean that everything has come to a halt. The senior class has had to adjust and make the best of this crazy senior year. Kattie Wurm never stops pursuing what she loves, even with everything that is going on in the world. Although some of her favorite things were cut short, Wurm is still staying active in the things she loves doing and pursuing her career goals.

Wurm has been in volleyball all throughout high school and has been out for track all of the years she was able to be. She is also involved in cheer and dance. FFA and 4-H are also a big part of Wurm’s life. She is secretary for her 4-H club as well as the 4-H council. Wurm showed pigs and goats and competed in buymanship, foods, and arts and crafts in this year’s fair. She has also been secretary for FFA for two years now. On top of all of these commitments, this busy senior has four jobs: ParkHill, Little Haven Daycare, babysitting, Pizza Hut.

With everything she does, Wurm puts her whole heart into it. She works hard and tries to be the best she possibly can be.

“Kattie’s most admirable character trait is her responsibility and hard work,” said Hailey Robbins, junior. She’s always been kind and she always comes through for the people who need her.”

Although her activities take up a lot of time, Wurm still manages to make school work a priority. Her favorite classes throughout her high school career have been the ones taught by Jeff Olofson.

“Kattie is a very hard worker and very diligent in completing her homework,” said Olofson. “She definitely wants things done and in on time. She is working very hard to achieve her goal of being a CNA and she took her computer health classes very seriously.”

Wurm’s plans after graduation are to pursue her nursing degree and hopefully attend the University of Kearney Nebraska.

“Kattie is the type of young woman that will help with whatever needs to be done, tirelessly digging to understand new or complex conflicts or problems, and is more than ready to be on her way to her future as a nurse,” said Traci Price, English teacher for grades 6-9 at St. Francis Community High School.
