Week 2 Football

by Adam Krien

St. Francis Indians rolled over the Oberlin Red Devils with a 48-0 win. First quarter was a defensive battle with the score 0-0.

Freshman Connor Wachsmann thought the team was mentally not prepared in the first quarter. “We didn’t start out great and I think we were just beating ourselves the first quarter. I’m glad we stepped it up and got the job done,” said Wachsmann.

In the second quarter, the Indians scored 38 straight points. The Indians were able to keep their momentum in the third quarter to end the game with back to back touchdowns.

Senior Colton Neitzel did not like how the Indians started the game. “We started out rough but in the second quarter came around we kicked it in gear,” said Neitzel.

Senior Shadryon Blanka thought defense was key. “Defense was strong as always and that got offense rolling,” said Blanka.

Sophomore Ben Busse said momentum was the changing factor. Busse said, “We weren’t ourselves but as soon as we got momentum the game was over.”
