Students Do Well at State Journalism

Student journalists from Saint Francis traveled to the University of Kansas in Lawrence to compete at the state level on May 3. Saint Francis Community High School placed third in the 1A division. Over 850 students from 118 schools across Kansas took part in the on-site contests with over 1,000 entries overall.
These individual students placed in the following categories: Sara Miller–2nd place Editing, Mikaela Grace–3rd place Feature Writing, Chance Hobrock–3rd place Editorial Cartoon, Jami Pevler–3rd place Advertising, Cassie Dankenbring–Honorable Mention Theme/Graphics, Andrea Holzwarth–Honorable Mention Yearbook Sports Writing, Holly Keller–Honorable Mention Theme/Graphics, Aly Marin–Honorable Mention Feature Writing, David Stephens–Honorable Mention Headline Writing.
