Lady Indians Show Dramatic Improvement

The Lady Indian volleyball teams were much improved in their performances this week.  The teams traveled to Imperial, NE to compete with the Lady Longhorns and Dundy County Lady Tigers on Thursday evening, September 25th.  Both schools have solid programs and very athletic teams.  Chase County sported a 12-5 record coming into the evening while Dundy County was 12-2 and ranked #3 in Nebraska Class C2.

In varsity action, the Lady Indians showed a much improved offensive attack and hustling defense in two close losses.  Chase County defeated the Lady Indians by scores of 20-25; 13-25.  St. Francis lost to Dundy County in three sets 25-22; 21-25; 18-25.

In junior varsity matches,  St. Francis lost to Chase County 25-14; 17-25; 10-25.  St. Francis was defeated by Dundy County in an extremely close match 25-15; 22-25; 13-15.

The C team lost to Dundy County 17-25; 23-25 and to Chase County 15-25; 12-15.

Next action for the junior varsity and C teams is Saturday, September 27th, when the C team will travel to Oberlin for the Oberlin Invitational C Team Tournament.  The junior varsity team will compete in the Brewster Quad on Saturday.
