Teams Compete Well in NWKL Meet
Boys Place Second; Girls Seventh
The high school track teams completed in the Northwest Kansas League Track and Field Meet in Goodland on Friday, May 14th. The boys team placed second in the league meet scoring 84 1/3 points. Colby won the meet with 90 points. The Indians won four individual gold medals. Earning NWKL championships were Matt Raile (2), Trent Raile, and Garrett Figgins. The Lady Indians placed seventh scoring 23 points. Colby also won the girls division scoring 150 points. Sarah Trembly was the only Lady Indian to win a league championship.
The boys team race was very close with the top five teams all within eleven points. The final boys team placings were: 1st-Colby (90); 2nd-St. Francis (84 1/3); 3rd-Goodland (83 2/3); 4th-Quinter (81); 5th-Oakley (79); 6th-Decatur Community (57); 7th-Rawlins County (48); and 8th-Hoxie (34).
Earning points in the NKWL Meet for the Indians were:

Isaac Schiltz--2nd in the high jump (5' 10"); 3rd in the pole vault (12' 0")
Adam Guthmiller--3rd in the discus (125' 8")
Cody Sherlock--5th in the 400m (54.20)
Darris Keller--6th in the pole vault (9' 0") (three-way tie)
The boys 4 X 100m relay (Trent Raile, Drew Zweygardt, Cody Sherlock, and Ty Zweygardt) team earned a 3rd place finish with a time of 45.86.
The girls team standings were dominated by Colby and Oakley. The final girls team placings were: 1st-Colby (150); 2nd-Oakley (122); 3rd-Decatur Community (78); 4th-Quinter (61); 5th-Hoxie (55); 6th-Rawlins County (52); 7th-St. Francis (23); and 8th-Goodland (9).
Earning points for the Lady Indians in the NWKL Meet were:

Kaitlin Figgins--2nd in the discus (100' 11 1/4")
