Many Enjoy PTA Olympics
The St. Francis PTA sponsored "Olympics Night"on October 5th. The evening featured several events for an evening of fun. St. Francis elementary students formed one half of a "team." The other half was generally a parent, but some students had teammates consisting of grandparents, brothers or sisters, or a friend.
Some of the activities included a basketball contest where teams were to pass (and/or dribble) the ball and score three baskets. Younger student teams had an egg race, carrying an egg on a spoon. Older student teams, competed in an egg toss using raw eggs.
The trike race found blindfolded drivers, being directed through an obstacle course of cones by their teammates. The three-legged race was also a bit tricky with teammates have large size differences. The sack race was also good for a laugh or two. A good time was had by all the participants. Winners of the events won PTA "money" to buy items with after the games were played. The PTA also gave away several very nice prizes to the students to conclude the evening.
