Young Lady Indians Defeated by Hoxie

Hoxie brought a very talented junior high team to St. Francis on Thursday, January 21st, and left with two wins over the young Lady Indians. The evening began with B-team action. Hoxie jumped out to 4-11 lead after one quarter of play and led 7-21 at halftime. St. Francis played much better in the second half scoring seven points in the third quarter and 15 in the fourth. St. Francis trailed 14-30 after three quarters and lost the B-team game 29-38.

Hoxie dominated the A-team game early. Using full court pressure and running the floor extremely well, Hoxie jumped out to 0-24 lead after one quarter of play. Hoxie led 2-32 with 3:55 remaining in the 2nd quarter and 8-38 at halftime. The young Indians regained some composure in the second half and played much better. The young Lady Indians trailed 14-60 after three periods and were defeated 16-70.

Next action for the junior high girls basketball teams will be on Monday, January 25th, when the Lady Indians host the teams from Goodland.  Tip-off will be at 4:30 in the high school gym.
