JH Wrestlers Place Third at NWKL Tourney
The Northwest Kansas League Junior High Wrestling Tournament was held in Oberlin on Tuesday, February 22nd. The Indians placed third in the team standings. Oakley won the tournament and Rawlins County was second. Decatur Community placed 4th and Hoxie 5th.
Shakota Blanka was the only league champion for the Indians. Placing second were Clay Cassaw, Garrett Brunk, Lane Hobrock, Justin Pacheco, Jude Faulkender, and Cade Bracelin. Travis Rogers, Austin Patton, and Blake Meyer placed third.

Head Coach Steve Jenkins made the following comments regarding the NWKL Tournament, "We have really come a long way and defeated kids today that had defeated us earlier in the year. I thought the kids came together as a team and that was fun to watch. I'm proud of these kids."
League champion Shakota Blanka commented, "It was fun winning the championship tonight and beating the Hoxie kid (Waggener) when I had to. To place seven in the finals was pretty cool, also. The finals were tough, but I thought we fought hard."
