Junior High Girls Split with Oakley

On Thursday, September 15th, the junior high volleyball teams traveled to Oakley for competition. The teams split with Oakley on the evening. The A-team defeated Oakley 12-15; 25-23; 15-8. Kayla Reed and Kattie Jenik led the Lady Indian serving with 8 and 7 good serves respectively.

The B-team lost to Oakley 15-25; 25-21; 5-15. Sophie White had 9 good serves, Makayla Rogers 8, and Hannah Stafford 7.

Coach Tina Elliott made the following comments, "The A team started out slow in the first set, made it too close but a good second set and then took control in the third set to win the match. The B team girls had a tough loss having a hard time moving to the ball and talking. Both teams struggled with serving as we both had a low percentage of good serves. I think we really are starting to realize that serves can make or break the game of volleyball, especially in Jr. High. We just need to focus on continuing to grow and get better as the season moves forward."
