Scholars Bowl Team Continues to Compete Well
Launch the media gallery 1 playerLast Thursday, November 20, the Scholars' Bowl team traveled to Goodland to compete in the Goodland Scholars' Bowl competition. The St. Francis Scholars placed 4th out of 12 teams. In a pool play, St. Francis won 3 of their first 5 rounds to qualify for the final round of competition. They faced a tough Cheylin team in the final round, losing by 2 questions and finishing in 4th place.
On Monday, November 24, the Scholars' Bowl team competed in Sharon Springs. The Scholar's' Bowl team went undefeated in the first five rounds of competition, but lost in the semi-final round to Weskan in a tie-breaker--by one...measly...question. The loss put St. Francis in the final round to vie for 3rd or 4th place out of the 12 competing teams. The scholars won that match also, finished with a 6-1 record, and took 3rd place overall.
