St. Francis Athletes Compete in State Track

The St. Francis athletes that qualified for the State Track Meet all competed well in the rain-delayed competition, but only two St. Francis entries placed in the meet. Junior Taylor Rogers earned a 6th place finish in the boys 400 meter dash with a time of 51.86. The boys 4 X 400 meter relay team consisting of Taylor Rogers, Jordan Raby, Tate Busse, and Lane Hobrock earned a 5th place finish with a 3:30.46 clocking in the finals.

The girls 4 X 100 meter relay team failed to reach the finals. The team of Madi Tice, McKenzie Taylor, Journey Lee, and Jylian Laten ran 53.35 in the preliminaries. McKenzie Taylor placed 14th in the girls 100 meter dash with a time of 13.38. Journey Lee place 13th in the girls pole vault clearing 7' 6".

Blue Rapids-Valley Heights won the girls state title scoring 73 team points. Bennington earned second place with 49 and Hill City third with 46.5. St. Francis did not score in the girls division.

Olpe won the boys championship with 65 team points. Ness City (51) and Washington (50) placed second and third. St. Francis place 26th with 7 team points.
