Open House Well Attended

St. Francis Community Schools held their Fall Sports Open House on Friday evening, August 26, in the St. Francis High School Gymnasium. The evening began with a  sloppy-joe meal sponsored by the Booster Club along with a membership drive. At 7:00 p.m., High School Principal David Morrow made a introductory statements, Susan Dinkel made a few comments regarding the Booster Club memberships, and then the various coaches/sponsors introduced their squads.

Teresa Porter introduced the SFCHS pom squad, Sara Houtman introduced the cheerleading squad.

Head volleyball coach Sarah Raile then introduced the high school volleyball team and her assistant coach ShayLinn Zweygardt. Rodney Yates, head football coach introduced his team and assistant coaches--Devin Dinkel, Nick O'Loughlin, and Steve Kirkham.

The volleyball team scrimmaged two games to give the fans their first look at the 2016 team. Due to rain and lightning, the football scrimmage was postponed until Saturday morning and then was held under damp, foggy conditions.

The teams will open competition this week. The volleyball team will play Hoxie and Goodland in St. Francis on Tuesday, August 30. They will play Idalia, in St. Francis, on Thursday, September 1. The football team will host Wallace County on Greene Field on Friday, September 2.
