Saint Francis quarterback Quinton Cravens prepares to make a play to benefit the Indians in Friday night’s game against the Titans

On Friday, September 9, the Indians traveled to Brewster, Kan. to compete and defeat the Titans. The game was over by halftime due to the 45-point mercy rule.

At the end of the first quarter, the score was 24-0. The boys stepped it up in the second quarter, and finished the game with a win of 54-0.

“My favorite part of the game was when I got my interception,” said Brady Dinkel, Saint Francis freshman. “We pulled out a big win like this because of a hard week of practice and everybody came prepared and ready to play. This win is a huge confidence booster since it is homecoming week for us.”

“We won because we simply outperformed the Titans and worked as a team,” said Tate Busse, Saint Francis junior.

Quarterback Quinton Cravens, Saint Francis senior, hands off the ball to Saint Francis sophomore Hunter Helton for another run down the field.
“For me, it was cool that everyone got a chance to play,” said K.C. Krien, Saint Francis sophomore.

“Homecoming week has already started for the boys,” said Rodney Yates, Saint Francis head football coach.

“My favorite part of the game was winning it,” said Jordan Raby, Saint Francis sophomore. “We know our plays and formation a lot better this year then we did last year.”

Raby said to prepare for this week's game against Hill City, they are going to have to really focus and work hard in practice. He said they have to play like they are ranked number two so they have a goal to reach and be number one.

“During Friday’s game, we played good defense, but [we] need to work on blocking for next week’s game,” said Busse.

Dinkel said he wants to work on his footwork as a defensive player before the next game.

“We really need to improve on hitting the hole when we’re running the ball for our homecoming game,” Krien said.
