Junior High VB Teams Place Well
On Saturday, September 16, the junior high volleyball teams competed in the 5-team Rawlins County Round Robin Tournament in Atwood. The tournament was competed in two divisions, and both the A and B teams placed well.
St. Francis won the A team division winning all four matches played. In their opening match at 8:30 a.m., the Lady Indians lost the first set to a good Rawlins County team, but came back and won the next two sets 25-21, 15-11. The Lady Indians defeated Quinter 25-13, 25-13 in their second match of the day. Goodland was their opponent in match three, and the Lady Indians took the advantage early and quickly defeated the Lady Cowgirls 25-4, 25-6. In their final match of the day, the Lady Indians defeated Wallace County 25-19, 25-13. With four consecutive wins, the A team Lady Indians earned 1st place in the Rawlins County Round Robin Tournament.
The B team Lady Indians lost one match during the competition and placed second in the tournament. The B team opened with a 25-16, 25-10 win over Goodland. In their second match of the tournament, the Lady Indians played Quinter and defeated them 25-9, 25-17. The B team's only loss came in match three where they lost to Rawlins County by a score of 17-25, 10-25. In their last match of the tournament, St. Francis defeated Wallace County 25-13, 25-17.
The Lady Indians will play Rawlins County in Atwood on Thursday, September 21.
