The Lady Indian volleyball team picked up two more wins on Tuesday, September 19, moving their season record to 12-4. In matches played in Bethune, CO, the Lady Indians defeated Bethune 25-14, 25-15 and Weskan 25-9, 25-14.

St. Francis opened the evening against the home-standing Lady Bobcats. Though Bethune played scrappy defense, their lack of a powerful offensive threat made easy work for the Lady Indians. Each Lady Indian suited received playing time in each set of the Bethune match. St. Francis completed six runs of three or more points in the first set while holding Bethune to only two. The Lady Indians jumped out to a 4-0 lead aided by two ace serves from Lauren Johnson. After an attack error, the Lady Indians earned three more consecutive points on an ace by Madison Tice, a Bethune attack error, and a swing-hit kill by Jessica Confer to lead 8-1. Bethune trimmed the lead to 9-4 before a four-point Lady Indian run including kills by Hanna Bracelin, Emileigh Dinkel, and Hannah Zimbal moved the scoreboard to 13-4. A series of St. Francis passing errors and a tip-kill by Bethune narrowed the margin to 14-9. The Lady Indians answered with kills by Dinkel and Lindsey Johnson and a deep-tip by Bracelin. The next SF three-point run moved the score to 21-12. The final Lady Indian run closed the set. The four-point run included two kills by Bracelin and an ace by Karly Bandel. St. Francis won set one 25-14.

The run included three aces by Karly Bandel and kills from Jessica Confer and Hanna Bracelin. The outburst triggered a Bethune time-out. A series of errors by both teams followed. Leading 12-9, the next SF run of six points moved the score to 18-9 and included a strong kill by Emileigh Dinkel, a deep-tip by Hanna Bracelin, a kill by Lindsey Johnson (E. Dinkel set), an ace by Taighe Weeter, and two missed serves by Bethune. Bethune aided the Lady Indians with four missed serves in the set. After the time-out, the Lady Indians rallied for eight straight points to lead 16-7. The run contained a stuff and two kills by Confer and an ace by Karly Bandel.
