Jr. High Football Ends With Loss to DC
The junior high football season came to close on Thursday, October 12. The young Indians' game against the visiting Decatur Community Red Devils came to a 14-60 conclusion. Decatur Community jumped out to a 0-30 lead in the first period. St. Francis scored on a 58-yard pass from quarterback Ben Busse to receiver Preston Witzel in the second period trimming the margin to 8-38. Witzel ran for the conversion points. St. Francis trailed at halftime, 8-46.
In the third period, a 17-yard pass from Busse to Witzel earned the second St. Francis touchdown moving the scoreboard to 14-52. St. Francis lost to the Red Devils 14-60 with the game ending midway through the 3rd period.
St. Francis ended the season with a record of 0-7.
