Sagebrush Tournament Information
The 2017 Sagebrush Classic Basketball Tournament will be held in Brewster on December 4th, 8th, and 9th. Eight teams will be completing in the tournament including Cheylin, Golden Plains, Heartland Christian, Logan, St. Francis, Triplains-Brewster, Wichita County, and Weskan (Heartland Christian will not have a girls team competing. Wray JV will play in the girls division to replace Heartland Christian.). Teams were seeded last year using the 2016 rankings of the boys and girls teams. The St. Francis Lady Indians will play in the North Gym vs Wichita County on Monday, December 4th, at 6:00 p.m.. The Indians will play Heartland Christian in the South Gym at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The semi-finals of the tournament will be held on Friday, December 8th. The finals will be played on Saturday, December 9th. Game times and opponents will be determined by the results of prior games. Click here to view the tournament brackets.
Each competing team will have a entrant in the free-throw and 3-point shooting contest. Representatives in the free-throw contest will shoot their first round of free-throws (25) before their first game on Monday with the top two qualifiers shooting 25 more on Saturday just before the girls' championship game. The 3-point contest will be held on Friday between the second and third games. Each team representative will shoot 25 shots from 5 different locations with a time-limit of 1 minute. The top two qualifiers will advance to compete in the finals held prior to the girls' championship game on Saturday.
An All-Tournament Team (five players) will be announced after each respective championship game.
Concessions will be available with proceeds going to the Brewster Junior Class. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for students. No passes will be accepted.
