Junior High Boys Split with Rawlins County

Rawlins County wasted little time in establishing full control of the A-team contest. The visiting Buffaloes jumped out to a 0-5 lead getting two quick baskets by Erwin Flores and a free-throw by Joshua Popp. Ben Busse drained a trey from the right corner to answer, but Flores scored again from the post on the next Rawlins County (RC) possession. St. Francis could only muster one field goal in the second period, a deuce by Preston Witzel in the last minute of the first half. St. Francis trailed 8-30 at halftime.

Rawlins County extended the lead to thirty points (8-38) at the 4 minute mark of the third period. Ben Busse scored from the left baseline and then added a trey from the right wing in the second half of the period. Colton Raile added an offensive rebound basket late in the period to bring the third quarter score to 15-43.

Preston Witzel added a trey early in the final period and then scored on an assist from Shannon Rethke moments later (20-47). Preston added two driving baskets (one a "plus one") and Vladimir Chinik a left-wing trey to close the St. Francis scoring. St. Francis lost to Rawlins County 28-51 in the A-team game.
