Indians 5th in Scott City Invite

The St. Francis Indian wrestling team earned a tie for a 5th place finish at the 34th annual Scott City Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, January 13. Four Indian wrestlers placed in the top four positions in their respective weight classes. Tiernan Poling placed 2nd at 132 pounds, Cody Baxter placed 3rd at 160, Luin Norris placed 2nd at 195, and Trayton Doyle earned the championship medal at 220.

Larned won the Scott City Invitational scoring 134.5 team points. Scott City was a very close 2nd with 132.5. Hugoton placed 3rd with 113.5 points. The remainder of the competing teams placed in the following order:  4th - Ulysses 95.5, 5th (tie) - Cimarron 82, 5th (tie)- St. Francis 82, 7th - Lakin 78, 8th - Holly (CO) 69, 9th - Garden Plain 62.5, 10th - Wichita County 58, 11th - Ellis 45, 12th - Thomas More Prep-Marion 31, 13th - Russell 29, 14th - Greeley County 19,15th - Sublette 13, and 16th - Brewster 8.
