Track Teams Compete in Triplains Invite

On Tuesday, April 10, the high school track teams competed in the Triplains Invitational Track and Field Meet in Colby. Twelve teams competed in the meet. The Indians won the meet scoring 116 team points. The Lady Indians placed 7th with 36 team points. Individual event winners for St. Francis included the girls 4 X 800 m relay team, the boys 4 X 100 m relay, the boys 4 X 400 m relay, Jordan Raby in the 400 meter dash, Shadryon Blanka in the 300 m hurdles, and Tate Busse in the 800 meter run. Tate's time of 1:58.04 in the 800 m run is currently the best time for all classes in the state of Kansas for the event.

Boys Division

St. Francis scored 116 team points to win the boys division. Trego Community placed second with 98 points. Northern Valley was third with 80 points. The remainder of the competing teams finished in the following order:  4th - Wallace County 59.6; 5th - Golden Plains 39.2, 6th - Logan 39, 7th - Brewster 31, 8th - Greeley County 30, 9th - Weskan 22, 10th - Quinter 12, 11th - Wheatland-Grinnell 10.6, 12th - Triplains 8.6, 13th - Heartland Christian, 14th - Cheylin 1.

Shadryon Blanka - 1st in 300 m hurdles (47.70); 4th in 100 m hurdles (20.15); 5th in triple jump (37' 8.25"); 6th in pole vault (9' 0")

Tate Busse - 1st in 800 m run (1:58.04)

Trayton Doyle - 5th in discus (116' 11")

Jake Faulkender - 3rd in 3200 meter run (11:18.90)

Wyatt Hackler - 4th in triple jump (39' 10.5")

Hunter Helton - 6th in javelin (126' 0"); 7th in 100 m dash (12.79)

Richard Johnson - 2nd in pole vault (11' 6"); 3rd in long jump (19' 5.25")

K.C. Krien - 5th in 400 m dash (58.22)

Luin Norris - 3rd in discus (120' 7"); 5th in shot put (39' 8")

Nick Paulsen - 7th in javelin (123' 0")

Tiernan Poling - 3rd in pole vault (11' 6")

Jordan Raby - 1st in 400 m dash (52.95)

Dalton Straub - 3rd in javelin (140' 10"); 7th in long jump (18' 8.25") 

4 X 100 relay - 1st (45.14) Dalton Straub, Jordan Raby, Adam Krien, Wyatt Hackler

4 X 400 relay - 1st (3:38.83) Jordan Raby, Wyatt Hackler, Adam Krien, and Brady Dinkel

Girls Division

Trego Community won the girls division of the Triplains Invitational scoring 100 team points. Northern Valley placed second with 80. The other competing schools finished in the following order:  3rd - Golden Plains 57, 4th - Wallace County 54, 5th - Quinter 53, 6th - Wheatland-Grinnell 39, 7th - St. Francis 36, 8th - Greeley County 34, 9th - Cheylin 31, 10th - Triplains 30, 11th - Logan -28, 12th - Weskan 12, 13th (tie) Brewster 0, and 13th - Heartland Christian 0.

Reagan Beims - 7th in triple jump (26' 8.5")

Emma Johnson - 6th in the 800 m run (2:57.94)

Joslyn Ketzner - 8th in the 200 m dash (31.46)

Jylian Laten - 5th in long jump (13' 10"); 6th in the 300 m hurdles (59.74); 8th in the 100 m dash (15.00); 8th in triple jump (26' 7")

Mallory Mills - 8th in the 400 m dash (1:11.96); 8th in high jump (4' 2")

Taighe Weeter - 4th in the 1600 m run (6:21.36)

Kattie Wurm - 7th in long jump (13' 7")

Hannah Zimbal - 3rd in the 400 m dash (1:04.49)

4 X 100 m relay - 4th (56.81) Lindsey Johnson, Madison Tice, Lauren Johnson, and Sierra Robbins

4 X 400 m relay - 2nd (4:34.62) Joslyn Ketzner, Madison Tice, Hannah Zimbal, and Taighe Weeter

4 X 800 m relay- 1st (11:13.16) - Hannah Zimbal, Emma Johnson, Taighe Weeter, and Kattie Wurm

St. Francis will compete in the Oakley Invitational on Friday, April 20.
