MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING – JULY 31, 2018

 

A special meeting of the Board was called to order at 7:01 a.m. on the above date by President Cale Rieger in the USD 297 Board meeting room, with all members present except Danielle McAtee.

 

Superintendent Schiltz requested an addition to the agenda: add 3b) Contracts returned for signature.  Troy Hilt moved to approve the agenda with the one addition; motion was seconded by Chris Hingst and carried.

 

The main purpose for this special meeting was a review of the proposed budget for FY 2019.  Following review and discussion of all funds in the FY 2019 budget, Chris Bracelin moved, Troy Hilt seconded, and it carried that the FY 2019 budget be published in the August 2 edition of the St. Francis Herald as proposed.  The overall mill levy for this budget is projected at 44.067 mills (last year’s budget was 44.653 mills.)  The budget hearing is scheduled to be held at the next regular Board meeting on August 16, 2019 at 7:00 A.M.

 

Next, the Board considered approval for the following contract amendments:

            Ted Busse                        Add JH boys’ basketball coach

            Talley Morrow                Add HS asst. volleyball coach; drop JH volleyball

            Tiffany Poet                    Full-time JH volleyball coach

            Traci Price                      Add HS asst. track coach; drop HS volleyball asst.

            Brandon Seger              Add JH football coach

            Cory Busse                    Add JH boys’ basketball and JH football coach

            ShayLinn Zweygardt    Add HD HS girls’ volleyball; drop HS girls’ track coach

A motion was made by Chris Bracelin to approve these amendments, seconded by Chris Hingst.  Vote was 5-1 to approve the amendments; motion carried.

 

The Board next considered approval of two contracts returned for signature.  Troy Hilt made a motion to approve the two contracts; seconded by Dustin Andrist and carried.

 

At 7:59 a.m., Chris Bracelin moved that the meeting adjourn; the motion was seconded by Dustin Andrist and carried.
