Lauren Johnson Wrapping Up Her SFCHS Career

Lauren Johnson is a very bright and athletic student. Although she is a twin, she is her own person. They have a lot in common, but they are also different in many ways.

“I am not afraid to say what’s on my mind. I think I am more independent,” said Lauren.

Johnson’s plans after high school include going to Fort Hays State University and studying pre-optometry. Although she knows what she wants to do and is excited for her future, she said she will miss some of the great memories she’s made throughout her high school years.

“One of my most memorable moments throughout high school would be painting the streets with my classmates,” said Johnson.

Lauren has two sisters. Lindsey is her fraternal twin.

Lindsey Johnson, senior, said, “It’s been so fun growing up with Lauren. I feel very blessed to be her twin because I have literally been with her since day one. She is my go-to person and I know we will be forever close! I love, love being able to grow with her.”

Throughout her high school athletic career at SFCHS, Lauren has been very committed to all three sports.

Her basketball and volleyball coach, ShayLinn Zweygardt, said, “I’ve been coaching Lauren since she was a freshman. She has improved so much as a competitor over the years. She didn’t really have a choice when she was young, she was thrown to the wolves, but that’s what makes her such a competitive athlete. She handles pressure well, doesn’t get rattled easily, and has developed into an incredible leader.”

In ten years, Lauren hopes to be graduated from optometry school, married, and starting her own family.

Lauren advised underclassmen to get involved in high school.

“I would like to tell incoming freshman to be involved because the more you are involved, the more you interact with the school and community and one day you won’t have that opportunity,” said Lauren.

Anyone who knows Lauren Johnson, knows that she will do great things in her future and she will succeed in college. We will all miss her at SFCHS next year.
