Teams Compete in Oakley Invitational
On Thursday, April 18, the high school track teams traveled to Oakley to compete in the Oakley Invitational Track and Field Meet. Thirteen teams competed in the meet including Brewster, Cheylin, Golden Plains, Hill City, Hoxie, Ouinter, Oakley, St. Francis, Trego Community, Triplains, Wallace County, Weskan, and Wheatland-Grinnell.
The Indian boys won the Oakley Invitational while the Lady Indians placed ninth. St. Francis had four event winners including Jordan Raby (200 m and 400 m), Tiernan Poling (pole vault), and the 4 X 100 meter relay team consisting of Cody Baxter, Jordan Raby, Brady Dinkel, and Shadryon Blanka.
Boys Division
St. Francis won the boys division totaling 104 team points. Oakley placed second with 74. The remainder of the teams finished in the following order: 3rd - Wallace County 66; 4th - Hoxie 60; 5th - Trego Community 49; 6th - Golden Plains 42; 7th (tie) - Brewster 41; 7th (tie) - Hill City 41; 9th - Wheatland - Grinnell 23; 10th - Cheylin 20; 11th - Weskan 15; 12th - Triplains 12; and 13th - Quinter 10.

Girls Division
Wallace County won the girls division of the meet scoring 102 team points.. Hoxie placed second with 92 points. Hill City and Oakley tied for third with 54. The rest of the competing teams finished in the following order: 5th - Wheatland-Grinnell 50; 6h - Golden Plains 42; 7th - Quinter 39; 8th - Trego Community 34; 9th - St. Francis 33; 10th - Cheylin 23; 11th - Weskan 22; and 12th - Triplains - 6. Brewster did not score in the meet.
