St. Francis Quad Held

A quadrangular track meet was held in St. Francis on Thursday, April 25. Four teams; Decatur Community, Hoxie, Rawlins County, and St. Francis participated in the meet. Hoxie won the boys division of the meet.  Rawlins County won the girls division of the meet. Many St. Francis athletes were not entered in some of their usual events, due to the upcoming Quinter Invitational on Friday.

Girls Division

Rawlins County scored 88 team points to win the girls division of the meet. Decatur Community placed second with 78 points. Hoxie earned third with 50 and St. Francis fourth with 33. St. Francis had one individual event winner. Makaila Matthies won the girls 3200 meter run.

St. Francis athletes placing in the meet are listed below.

Molly Gilliland - 2nd in discus (67' 4"); 5th in shot put (25' 10.25")

Deija Kabureck - 3rd in shot put (26' 2.5")

Ellee Krien - 2nd in 800 meters (2:50.27); 2nd in pole vault (6' 6")

Makaila Matthies - 1st in 3200 meters (15:49.04)

Matilynn Smull - 4th in pole vault (5' 6")

Rian Zimbal - 2nd in shot put (29' 3.5"); 4th in long jump (13' 1.25"); 5th in discus (57' 3")

4 X 100 meter relay -  3rd (58.45) - Jacki Milliken, Jesslynn Houtman, Rian Zimbal, and Ellee Krien 

Boys Division

Hoxie won the boys division totaling 89 team points to sneak by Rawlins County with 85. St. Francis took third place with 50 points. Decatur Community placed fourth with 33 points. Two St. Francis athletes won individual events. Connor Wachsman won the discus with a toss of 93' 3", and Ben Busse won the pole vault clearing a height of 8' 6".

Cris Espino - 3rd in high jump (4' 6")

Aiden Fernandez - 4th in pole vault (6' 6")

Garrett Helton - 2nd in 100 meter dash (13.28); 4th in long jump (14' 4.5")

Rhonald Neitzel - 4th in 200 meter dash (27.88)

Colton Raile - 2nd in discus (89' 0")

Asher Robbins - 3rd in 100 meter hurdles (21.97)

Dawson Rose - 4th in 100 meter hurdles (22.13)

Connor Wachsman - 1st in discus (93' 3")

Preston Witzel - 2nd in high jump (4' 8"); 3rd in 200 meter dash (27.51)

4 X 100 meter relay - 2nd (54.07) - Cris Espino, Rhonald Neitzel, Preston Witzel, and Colton Raile

4 X 200 meter relay - 3rd (2:28.36) - Asher Robbins, Shane Todd, Dodge Fromholtz, and Connor Wachsman

The track teams will compete in the NWKL Divisional Meet in Tribune on Thursday, May 2.
