Junior High Girls Lose to Quinter

On Monday, November 25, the junior high girls basketball teams hosted teams from Quinter. The Lady Indians played hard but lost both contests to the visiting Lady Bulldogs. St. Francis lost the A-Team contest by a score of 14-45. The B-Team lost to Quinter 4-35 in a game played at the Grade School.

In the A-Team game, the Lady Indians received 4 points from Jacki Milliken in the first quarter. The Lady Indians trailed 6-12 after one quarter of play. Quinter's Kennedy Werth (8th) scored 6 in the period. St. Francis trailed 8-20 at halftime. 

Quinter scored 15 points in the 3rd period receiving 7 points from Bryn Gilliespie (7th) and 6 from Madison Reinert (8th). The margin increased to 14-35 after three quarters of play. Maggie Hingst added 4 points to the Lady Indians total in the final stanza, but Mackenzie Reinert (8th) chipped in 6 for Quinter. The Lady Indians lost to the Lady Bulldogs 14-45.

Scoring for St. Francis in the A-Team game were Maggie Hingst 6, Jacki Milliken 4, and Makaila Matthies 4. Quinter was led by Kennedy Werth with 13 and Madison Reinert with 10. Mackenzie Reinert and Bryn Gillespie each scored 9.

The Lady Indians will play Cheylin on December 3 in St. Francis.
