Italia Gutierrez

When you think of a big, massive ball of energy, what’s the first thing you think of? Or who? For her friends and family, that person would be Italia Gutierrez, a senior at SFCHS. Gutierrez is the girl that you can always count on to crack a few jokes and have a peppy attitude.

“I love having [Gutierrez] in my class,” said Emma Hackler, senior. “She adds a lot of fun to group activities and can easily break the ice.”

Gutierrez’s big personality is what draws her peers towards her.

“Quote-waiting for response”

“Don’t let drama get in your life and just focus on the positive,” said Gutierrez when asked what advice she would give current freshmen.

Having lots of energy always helps Gutierrez with her many activities, predominantly dance related. She loves to spend time with her friends, draw, cheer, dance, help with tumbling and dance classes, and manage the football team. Her typical day consists of getting up early, sometimes going to dance practice, school, football practice, cheer practice, homework, and finally chores.

Gutierrez aspires to any type of designer, but says that she wants to be a graphic designer the most.

“I like graphic design because you get to be creative,” said Gutierrez, “I just think it’s really fun.” Gutierrez has an infinite amount of creativity and believes that graphic design would be a great way to use it. She’s been drawn to artistic outputs from a very young age.

“I’ve always liked creating stuff on my own, taking graphic design my sophomore year is what started my interest in it,” said Gutierrez.

She plans on attending Colby Community College to study graphic design her first year out of high school then would later like to attend Fort Hays State University. Gutierrez chose CCC because it’s close to her family, it isn’t very costly, and it seemed like the best fit for her.

In ten years Gutierrez hopes to be married with kids and have a stable career. As a go-getter she is sure to accomplish many things in her future.
