Indians play rescheduled Eagles volleyball game - By Ben Busse

The Lady Indians had a tough matchup against the Colby Eagles at home on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The matchup was rescheduled due to positive coronavirus cases on the Eagles’ team. 

Rian Zimbal, sophomore, said “I was upset that we didn’t come out on top, but we grew as a team.” 

The varsity Indians won two out of the five matches.

Jesslynn Houtman, sophomore, echoed Zimbal when she said “We fought hard, but didn’t come out with the win, however we grew as a team and will continue to play for each other.” 

The first match the Eagles won 25-17. The Indians came back strong in the second match beating the Eagles 25-20. 

The Eagles responded in the third set with a big win of 25-14. 

The Indians again responded with a close match and won with a score of 26-24.  

The Indians then started the last set very strong by going up 7-2. The Eagles made a big run and won 15-11. 

Ellee Krien, sophomore, said “I wish we could’ve come out on top but it was good competition.” Krien is the libero for the Indians. 

The JV Indians won their first match against the Eagles, 25-15. The Eagles responded with a win in a close match winning 27-25. The Indians finished the Eagles off in the third set with a score of 15-13.
