Junior high girls A-Team learn from game against Tribune

By Addy Christensen

The Saint Francis Junior High Lady Indians basketball A-team girls fell to the Tribune Jackrabbits Thursday night. The Indians scored 20 points, while Tribune made 29 points.

“We finally had the hustle in (the game) in the last half,” Maggie Hingst, 8, said.

The girls may have not won, but they did work together as a team.

Delaney Myers, 8, said, “We should’ve put more effort into the game.”

Coach Holly Hingst believed they have improved over the season. She really believes in the girls and pushes them to achieve their full potential.

“The girls have made great progress this year,” Holly Hingst stated.

Thursday night’s game they only lost by 9 points, but as Hingst said "L's are learns."

Matilynn Smulls, 8, said the team could have tried harder.

The team is always improving in the eyes of Coach Hingst.

“It’s not how big you are but it’s how big you play,” Coach Hingst said.
