Thirty Seniors Receive Their Diplomas

Record Amount of Scholarship Dollars Earned

Vice-president Jami Pevler gave the senior farewell.

On Sunday, May 17th, thirty 2009 graduates were awarded their high school diplomas during the Commencement Exercises held in the St. Francis High School Gymnasium.  The graduates were escorted into the gymnasium by the Honor Guard consisting of Brooklyn Hnizdil, Trent Raile, Dale Northrup, Amber Smull, Kaycee Williams, and Drew Zweygardt. Pastor Ken Hart of the Peace Lutheran Church gave the invocation, message, and benediction.  The National Anthem was played by the Concert Band in honor of all who have served in the military.  The seniors presented flowers to their parents while the senior class song, "The River" (by Garth Brooks), was played.  Jami Pevler, senior class vice-president, gave the senior farewell.  Joni Pevler, senior class president, gave the senior talk.  A record amount of scholarship money (more than $228,000) was awarded to the graduating seniors.  Mr. Kelly Gienger and Principal Scott Carmichael presented the diplomas.
