Coach Smith had the following comments on the tournament, "Great tournament for our kids. We got to see some different teams and compete against some tough competition. I felt bad for our little guys (Lane and Casey) they had to sit around for what seemed like forever and didn't have that first match out of the way. They both ended up getting beat in matches that were close or we were ahead in. Mikey and Logan just got caught in tough weight classes and ran into solid kids. Zach Gienger is back and it's great to see him on the mat. We made some early season mistakes that cost us a couple of winnable matches, but we'll learn from it and get better. So happy for him to be back on the mat again. Adam continued what's shaping up to be a special season. He's a special kid that hopefully people don't forget about when talking about how young we are. Being the lone varsity upper classman he's become our 3rd coach on staff and is in the process of putting together one of the best individual seasons we've had around here for awhile. Hopefully the community shows up Friday like I think they will to show this young man their respect for everything he has done to point this wrestling program back to where it needs to be."

In the JV bracket, Tyler Raby finished 3rd in the 140 weight class and Derek Queen finished 3rd in the 145 weight class.
