"The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux" to be Presented May 2
On Monday, May 2, a musical medical melodrama entitled, "The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux" will be presented in the HS Auditorium by the SFCHS Advanced Music Class and selected members of the high school band and vocal classes. Curtain time for the production is 7:00 p.m.
"The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux" takes place in the emergency room of the Hanover D. Cash Clinic. Dr. Dogsbreath Devereaux is in charge of clinic which is owned by wealthy widow Lotta Cash. Dr. Devereaux plans to gain control of the clinic and Lotta's millions by marrying Lotta -- and then arranging for her to have a little "accident." Helping him is the nasty nurse, Hilda Hatchet, whom he promises to wed after he gets rid of Lotta. A new nurse, Wendy March, complicates matters when she arrives to begin work at the clinic. Wendy overhears the plot to get rid of Lotta, and finds herself in danger as well.
Members of the cast include Logan Whitmore, (Dr. Dogsbreath Devereaux), Stephanie Perry (Nurse Hilda Hatchet), Jacquelyn Ketzner (Nurse Wendy March), Fabienne Baudet (Lotta Cash), Robbie Herman (Dr. Phil Good), Trevor Reed (Orderly Ward Helper), Brandon Keeker (Brother Sunbeam), Ross Nicklos (Officer Tommy Gunn), Trista Orth (Nurse Ivy Dripp), and Tilyn Bell (Trixie St. James). Patients at the Hanover D. Cash Clinic are played by Lane Hoffman, Isaac Schiltz, Taylor Archibald, Ty Zweygardt, and Brock Zweygardt. The melodrama is directed by Debbie Fiala.
"The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux" was written by Billy St. John, with music by Debbie Wilson. It is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado. Admission charge for the musical melodrama is $5.00.
