KSHSAA Releases 2011-12 Classification Information
September 20th is the date when the official enrollments are gathered from the 355 high schools across Kansas for the purpose of determining classifications for post season athletic play. The count also determines the classification for high school football playoffs the following year (2012-2013).
The official 2011-12 enrollment for St. Francis High School was 98 students (grades 9-12). St. Francis will be competing in Class 1A in all high school sports (except football) for the 2011-12 school year. St. Francis was one of seven schools to change classification from 2A to 1A this year. Thirty-nine schools either moved up or down in classification from last year.

Football classification are based on the enrollment of students in ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades only. St. Francis had an enrollment of 69 on September 20th. St. Francis will be classified as 2-1A for the 2012-13 football season. St. Francis will be the smallest school in the state playing 11-man football next season. Class 2-1A contains schools with enrollments of 69-118 students. Thirty-six schools with larger enrollment will be playing in the 8-man division.
