"Saturday in the Park" Proceeds Go to Scholarships

Drive 4UR School Project Also Held at Car Show

The Cheyenne County Cruisers will be holding the 13th annual "Saturday In the Park Car and Bike Show" on May 11th at Sawhill Park in St. Francis.  The club has several nice items to be given away at the show including a portable battery booster and air compressor, pedal tow truck, two quilts (made by Greg and Zona Potter), and a nice motorcycle tool kit.  Tickets for these items will be available on the day of the show.

Proceeds from from the show, will go toward college scholarships for graduating seniors.  Using proceeds from past shows, the Cruisers have previously presented 38 scholarships.  The Cheyenne County Cruisers Car Club has given away thousands of dollars in scholarships and sponsored many other community projects and will continue to do so as funds allow.  If you are interested in supporting the club (and graduating seniors), you may purchase tickets at the show on May 11th.  If you would like to make a donation to the club to be used for scholarships, contact Kent Kechter (785-332-0039-cell; 785-332-8172-work) or other club members for additional information.

Yost Ford and Ford Motor Company are sponsoring the Drive 4UR School Program on Saturday, May 11th, at the Car and Bike Show.  The Drive 4UR School Program has the potential to raise up to $6000 for St. Francis Schools.  Community members will have the opportunity to test-drive a new Ford vehicle at the show.  For every person who test-drives a new Ford vehicle, Ford Motor Company and Yost Ford will donate $20 to St. Francis Community Schools.  Funds will be used to benefit the school as needed.  The Drive 4UR School will be held at St. Francis High School just one-block east of the Car Show.  Tickets will also be sold for a 10-day trip to Mexico or Hawaii.  (Please note:  Participants must be 18 years old or older and have a valid driver's license.  Limit one test-drive per household.  Test drives will last 7-10 minutes.)  Yost Ford has also donated a "blow-up" car for the show.  Make your guess as to how long the car will run.  Proceeds from the "blow-up" car also go to St. Francis Schools.

Weather permitting, Aurora Honda's "Ride the Plains to the Car Show" ride will stop in St. Francis for the car show with approximately 100 motorcycles.  The Aurora Harley-Davidson Club also plans to arrive in St. Francis for the show.  They also plan to have 50 or more riders.

The Cheyenne County Cruisers will give away three bicycles at the show.  Kids are encouraged to sign up for the free drawing.

In conjunction with the show, the Community Garage Sale will be held across the street from the show in the grade school playground.  The Cheyenne Center for Creativity will be holding an art show on vehicles the same day.  The Cruisers will sponsor a short poker run for show participants in the afternoon.

Please vote for your favorite vehicles.  A "People's Choice" award will be given away at the awards assembly (along with many other prizes and awards).  The "People's Choice" award is sponsored the Wyo-Tech.

There is a registration fee to enter the show.  All cars, trucks, and motorcycles are welcome!

Reminder:  Please remember that many of the vehicles are very rare and/or expensive.  Please LOOK BUT DON'T TOUCH.  Please do not bring skateboards, bicycles, pets, etc. into the show area.  Thank you!
