Sainty cross country team travels to Tribune

Cross Country Indians competed at Tribune on Saturday. Three of the five runners competed in the race.

Lyden Lampe, sophomore, placed 32nd out of 52 runners.

“The struggles were the hills and the heat,” Lampe said. “A personal victory was to get a better time than the last race. I believe I could still improve my time.”

In the 3.1 mile race, Kara Maybury, sophomore, placed 34th.

“The course was more difficult than the first race,” Maybury said. “There were more people and it was later in the day, therefore warmer. The course had more hills. I was smiling at the end even though I wanted to do better than I did.”

Cutler Mayer, junior, placed 46th. It was Mayer’s first race.

“One struggle was trying to make myself not walk,” Mayer said. “It was tough. A personal victory was when I finally passed the Oakley kid that was ahead of me, and when I passed that other dude at the last second.”
