Wrestlers Place 7th At Ulyssess
The St. Francis Indian wrestling team placed 7th in the 56th annual Ron Smith Invitational Wrestling Tournament in Ulyssess, KS, on Saturday, December 14. The Indians scored 60.5 team points to earn the position. Scott Community High School won the team championship scoring 249 points. Ulyssess placed second with 205 points. The results of the other teams were as follows: 3rd - Boys Ranch 129, 4th - Hugoton 105, 5th - Leoti-Wichita County 74.5, 6th - Garden City 67.5, 7th - St. Francis 60.5, 8th - Lakin 39.5, 9th - Liberal 30, 10th - Brewster 27, 11th - Baca County (CO) 26, 12th - Holcomb 14, and 13th - Tribune-Greeley County 8.
Three St. Francis wrestlers placed in the top four positions to earn medals. Garin Cooper placed 2nd at 132 pounds; Jayce Nider placed 4th at 160, and Shadryon Blanka placed first at 195.
