Sixth Grade Students Promoted to Junior High
The annual 6th Grade Promotion was held on Monday evening, May 20th. Thirty students participated in the promotion ceremony and will be eagerly awaiting the adventure of junior high school. Students entering junior high school as members of the 2013-2014 7th grade class are: EmmaLee Archuleta, Kazzandra Bala, Cody Baxter, Jessica Confer, April Fernandez, Emmanuel Fierro, Christina Frink, Brice Hays, Kaleb Hays, Hunter Helton, Kyla Hicks, Wyatt Hilt, Draven Houtman, Lauren Johnson, Lindsey Johnson, Connor Keller, Joslyn Ketzner, Taylor Kinzer, Kody Krien, Teagan Landenberger, Kouper McQuigg, Jorge Olivares, Tiernan Poling, Alexander Queen, Bryce Raby, Jordan Raby, Mason Schmid, Tayton Weeter, Shelby Wolff, and Shalyn Zweygardt.
This class will become the second-largest class in the Junior-Senior High School with 30 students. Next year's sophomore class will have 31 students.
Several special awards were given during the Promotion Ceremony. Sixth grade teacher Julie Wolters was recognized for her 31 years of service to St. Francis Community Schools. Julie was presented with a gift of recognition by Superintendent Rob Schiltz and Principal Scott Carmichael.
